ECK Community Wellbeing: Our Mother-and-Child Health Collaboration

ECK Development Trust joined Maanavseva and Digumarti Foundation in a mother-and-child health collaboration at SEDB schools in Vizianagaram.

A community wellbeing awareness gathering in southern India.
Community wellbeing begins with accessible conversations.

At ECK Development Trust, education, inclusion and community wellbeing belong in the same conversation. A child's learning environment is also a place where families and teachers connect. Those relationships create a meaningful setting for partnerships that bring health awareness closer to a school community.

We joined Maanavseva and Digumarti Foundation to initiate a Mother and Child Program connected with schools managed by the Society for Education of Blind and Deaf (SEDB) in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh. The collaboration brings our community focus together with partner organizations and specialist medical expertise.

Working through a school community

Schools connect children with the adults who support them every day. This makes the school community an important starting point for conversations about wellbeing. Our interest in this collaboration reflects that connection between education and family life.

For ECK, partnership means recognizing the contribution of each organization. Community relationships and professional expertise serve different purposes, and both have a place in work that involves children, mothers and teachers.

Awareness and specialist-led activities

The program began with an awareness camp on 31 July. On 30 August, Dr. Leela Digumarti and Dr. Raghunadha Rao Digumarti conducted the first round of HPV vaccinations for eligible children, together with a screening camp for mothers and teachers.

These activities form the collaboration described in Maanavseva's published account. They connect a school setting with the knowledge and services of qualified health professionals.

Our role in the collaboration

ECK participated as a collaborating organization alongside Maanavseva and Digumarti Foundation. The vaccination and screening activities were conducted by the named doctors. This combination of organizational collaboration and specialist delivery is central to the way we present this work.

Our focus is the shared purpose: bringing education and community wellbeing into closer conversation while recognizing the people and institutions contributing their expertise.

Connecting education and wellbeing

This collaboration is part of the story of ECK's work with other organizations. It reflects our commitment to education, inclusion and community wellbeing through relationships built around a practical purpose.

We welcome conversations with educational institutions, nonprofit organizations and qualified professionals who share these interests. To discuss a relevant partnership, contact ECK. Further activity details are available in our mother-and-child collaboration story.
